Wird of Imam an Nawawi? However, I strongly doubt that it has been said by Imam al-Nawawi for many reasons; a. It was not mentioned in any of his books b. The Arabic of it is bit weak and not similar to how Imam al-nawawi writes and speak.
If I do not greet back in writing then know I do it verbally because sometimes I am too busy and just want to answer the question.

Assalamu Alykum Ustadh Ayman, I understand wird is something said on a regular basis, so it has to have some basis in the Sunnah to be classified as a wirdeven if the text has nothing wrong with it.

Actually the first time I saw this Wird, and the brother told me that it is for Imam Al-Nawawi, the first nawadi caught my attention is: That was my initial thought few years back I didn’t see anyone from among those who permit it counting him, even though they count and support their view with scholars not of the caliber of Imam Al-Nawawi. So why not use him. I had some more questions, but would leave it at that And Allah knows best.

And why it has never been mentioned in any scholar work esp. Nevertheless, as we said, this brings no benefit to anyone. In the end of the day: The benefit of such wird is not due to its text but rather due to the virtue of the Imam himself. It is known that the affect of any duaa and wird depends on the heart status of who says it.
Even if we accept this wird is said ijam Imam al-Nawawi, then that will not increase our Imaan or our knowledge in Islam. So, one should not word himself with it.

The 24-vol Mu’assassah al-Risalah edition appears to be thoroughly edited with plenty of footnotes (mostly takhrij). The much larger sized font of this latter edition may not be appreciated by many (I personally don’t like overly large fonts). If I could go back in time, I would definitely buy this 24-vol edition, although, as I’ve said, I’m not unhappy with the edition that I already have. Similar is the case with the new 7-vol Tafsir Ibn Kathir published by Dar Ibn al-Jawzi (S Arabia).
The muhaqqiq seems to rely on him for grading some of the ahadith quoted in the book. Could this tahqiq be a reason for the difference in pages? When one does a search on the internet one comes across articles that speak of tampering with this book for example where it concerns visiting the grave of the Prophet s.a.w.s. And probably this is not the only issue.
